Ms. Weinstein represents clients in all aspects of litigation, including state and federal administrative proceedings, trial, pre- and post-trial procedures, and appeals. She also has extensive experience in negotiating severance packages and representing clients in alternative dispute resolution procedures, including private mediation and arbitration.
Ms. Weinstein has represented employees across the country as well as class members in two gender discrimination class actions against Salomon Smith Barney, Inc. and Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith, Inc. Ms. Weinstein was one of the attorneys who tried the case of a former Merrill Lynch employee which resulted in a $2.2 million verdict in the employee's favor. In addition to her experience in the financial services industry, Ms. Weinstein has represented clients in a wide range of industries and against local governments, including the City of Chicago.
Ms. Weinstein has also represented and counseled employers -- from Fortune 500 corporations and foreign corporations doing business in the United States to mid- and small-sized companies -- in a wide variety of employment-related matters.
Ms. Weinstein attended Indiana University School of Law -- Indianapolis, where she graduated first in her class. Following law school, Ms. Weinstein worked as an employment lawyer at prominent defense firms, including Johnson Smith LLP and Baker & Daniels in Indianapolis, Indiana and Baker & McKenzie in Chicago. Prior to forming her own firm, Ms. Weinstein was an attorney at Stowell & Friedman in Chicago.
